So what is the location of Bai Sao? And why can Bai Sao be told as the most beautiful beach in Vietnam? I think, it is the best beach in Thailand - Vietnam and Cambodia now!
I have been to lots of beach resorts and swum in lots of beautiful beaches along the S-shaped land of Vietnam country. However, to be honest, the most beautiful beach in Vietnam is Bai Sao in Phu Quoc Island, which has an unique beauty. After seeing the picture of this beach, you might want to go there immediately.

Bai Sao is still a wildness and deserted beach located secretly in the east of Phu Quoc Island. Bai (it means beach) Sao Beach is in the south east of Duong Dong town, Phu Quoc district (Kien Giang Province) and Phu Quoc airport. It takes about 24-30 minutes travelling by taxi from Phu Quoc airport to Bai Sao, the total length of the road is about 16-17 kilometers. It is about 24 kilometers from Bai Sao to Dong Duong town.
I used the word "secretly" because Bai Sao located in the east of Phu Quoc Island. This island looks like a huge bow when covering Bai Sao (In fact, the main part of Phu Quoc Island is in the west opposite to the gulf of Thailand). The west coast of the Southwest Vietnam is in front of Bai Sao. Rach Gia city and Ha Tien city (both are in Kien Giang province) are in the northeast of Bai Sao Beach.
So, Bai Sao Beach is very airtight. In rainy season in the southwest of Vietnam, you can swim and relax in the east of Phu Quoc Island, in which Bai Sao is the highlight of tourism. However, Bai Sao has fewer tourists comparing to beaches in the west of Phu Quoc Island such as Bai Truong (Long beach), Bai Dai Beach and Bai Ong Lang Beach, ect... The reason why the majority of tourists don't come here is in dry season (the main travelling season) there are more people want to go to the west of Phu Quoc island and the weather here is warmer, too.

Bai Sao Beach is also close to Bai Khem Beach, but you cannot go directly from Bai Sao to Bai Khem and vice versa. From Phu Quoc airport and Bai Truong (Long Beach), there are two roads which lead to Bai Sao include: Nguyen Van Cu street (the main way existed from ancient day) and Phu Quoc hightway.
So, why did I say Phu Quoc is the best beach in Vietnam and Thailand and Cambodia? It is hard to find words to say, maybe the specific feature of this place is a special kind of sand which is as quite as snow (or ice-cream), small - smooth and if you lie on this sand, you will feel cool, soft that don’t want to leave.

On some tourism websites in other countries, Bai Sao is called Sao Beach and has been mentioned many times. The traveling magazine Lonely Planet has considered Sao Beach as one of the most beautiful beach in the world, best beach in the world. It is worth it. They didn’t lie or advertise.
Bai Sao’s length is about 7 kilometers, limited by rock capes protruding to the sea, so it feels like the beach is very discreet from An Thoi town (the second town in Phu Quoc Island) to the rest of the island. White sand expand all the 7- kilometers- beach. On many traveling websites in our country, the sand in Nha Trang beach and Hoi An beach are told to be even less beautiful than Bai Sao's sand. Sand in Nha Trang beach is yellow, in Vung Tau is brown, in Ha Tien (opposite to Phu Quoc island) is too black!

Summer in the north of Vietnam occurs at the same time with the rainy season in Phu Quoc island. Southwest winds are heavy, there are strong waves in the west of Phu Quoc island but in Bai Sao, the waves are weak and peaceful.
Although Bai Sao Beach is still wildness and there are not many resorts comparing to Bai Truong area in the west of Phu Quoc Island. But seafood in Bai Sao is cheap and delicious. At present, there are not many restaurants here but Bai Sao is extremely a suitable place for couples, families who want to spend a peaceful night looking at the beautiful sea.

Some people think that there is no beach more beautiful than Bai Dai beach in Phu Quoc Island but in fact, Bai Sao Beach is even more beautiful. However, with foreign tourists who come from temperate countries which cold all year, who hardly have a chance to see the sun, Bai Dai and Bai Truong (Long Beach) are the most wonderful places to see the sunset while swimming, and the sea water in the west coast like Long Beach is also warmer than in the east coast like Bai Sao Beach.
