In my previous article on this website, I shared some informations about how to move from Hanoi to Ha Giang by motorbike (you should read it). However, you can also go to Ha Giang Provice by bus, especially night bus from Hanoi.
So, how do you go to Ha Giang Province by night bus? Where do you get bus tickets in Hanoi and Hagiang?
If you don’t want to go to Ha Giang from Hanoi by motorbike, you can go by high quality bus that moves at night so many people call it is night bus.

It is a type of specialized vehicles for transporting passengers on the route from Hanoi to Ha Giang and back. There are about 5-6 bus companies including multiple trips every day. However, I also like a lot of tourists in Hanoi usually go to Ha Giang at night because we can spend the night sleeping right on this transport.

From 7 P.M to 9 P.M every night, there will be many trips that depart from Hanoi capital city to Ha Giang Province and at about 4 - 5 A.M next morning, the bus will arrive in Ha Giang Bus Station.
If you want to catch the best quality night bus, you should go to My Dinh Bus Station (or called Hanoi Bus Station) where is located in the West and 8 kilometers from the center of Hanoi.

In spite of a lot of buses, I just like choosing two bus brands including Hung Thanh Bus and Hai Van Bus. I sometimes catch Ngoc Cuong Bus but this bus only runs at daytime.
Night bus fare from Hanoi to Ha Giang is 200.000- 250.000 Vietnam dong per one (9-11$)

After going to the bus station in the center of Ha Giang city, you can go out and hire a motorbike in Nguyen Trai Street (where has many motorbike rental shops) to go to Dong Van and Meo Vac Karst Plateau that is far about 140 kilometers by this vehicle.

I recommend you should go by motorbike on this route because the scenery is both very beautiful, majestic and romantic with only rocky mountains, wildflowers and weeds. Behind the rocky mountains are small villages built by stones or land. The local people have to plant vegetables and corns on the rocks or ravines because of rare of farmland.

However, you can also get a mini bus from Ha Giang Bus Station to go to Dong Van and Meo Vac distric. Two bus companies that you should choose are Hung Hoa Bus and A Sinh Bus. These buses often move to Dong Van and Meo Vac district at 4 to 5 A.M every early morning.
Note: If you go to Ha Giang Province from Hanoi by motorbike, you note that the road is known as Noi Bai- Lao Cai New Highway from Noi Bai (Hanoi International Airport) to Doan Hung district - Phu Tho Province that does not allow motorbikes to be circulated. So you must go by old road that is called Highway No.2
